Online Coaching

Would you like to have hypnotic coaching from home?
Do you wonder how you could fit coaching into your busy schedule?
Does sitting in traffic or searching for parking feel like a huge waste of time?
Would you prefer not to hang around in a waiting room?

Imagine the benefit if you could, instead, devote your precious time to working towards your goals. With online coaching, you can:

  • Fit coaching around your life and work.
  • Talk to your coach at a time that suits you.
  • Save on travel expenses.
  •
Choose a coach that’s right for you, not one that happens to live nearby.
  • Talk from the comfort of your own home or place of choice: a space that feels safe, familiar and private.
  • Sit on your own favourite chair and relax after the session.
  • Keep on track with coaching even if you’re travelling away from home.

A lack of mobility or inability to leave your house isn’t a barrier to you getting support. There’s no need to put your well-being on hold. The help you need is accessible.

I get to work with the people I most want to work with too. It’s no longer determined by who can make it to a clinic.

Does hypnosis work online?

There’s no need to put your wellbeing on hold.

Hynotic coaching via video on Zoom is as easy as chatting to family or friends online.

Online hypnosis sessions are at least as effective as those in person.

can we do coaching online?

By online, we mean talking to each other via videoconferencing software, in real time via the internet.

Do you already chat to family and friends online via video?  If you’re not yet used to talking to your screen, it may feel a little odd at first but it’ll soon feel feel normal.

There is a long tradition of video therapy. A psychiatrist called Peter Yellowlees saw his first patient over video in 1991.

My colleagues all comment on how powerful working online is for their clients—at least as effective as in person. And a lot of clients say they find it easier to focus during online sessions.

Because the sessions are often taking place in the environment where you’re experiencing the problems, changes are more easily made. You don’t have to make a mental leap from how you’re feeling in an unfamiliar room to how you feel at home.

A study in 2019 found that Skype hypnotherapy is effective for people with severe irritable bowel syndrome (IBS).

Research has shown that therapy via video is as effective as in person.

what makes online coaching a success?

Work with someone you have rapport with.

  • With someone you can trust.

  • Work with a coach who supports you.
  • With a qualified professional.
  • And, last but not least, you must be ‘coachable’ and ready to make changes.

They’re the same ingredients whether you’re working with a coach online or in person.

My experience as a client of online coaching

You might wonder if hypnosis online can be as powerful as in person. I confess I asked myself this question. Until I started to see my own coach online. I knew he was the right coach for me, but I’m in Dublin, and he is in the south of England.

After three online sessions with my hypnotic coach, I made a massive breakthrough. I got the transformation I’d been looking for years. There’s nothing like being able to recommend something when you know it from the inside out.

how will we work online?

I qualified as a Mind Coach, as well as hypnotherapist, so I work in a way that’s conversational and interactive. This readily lends itself to working online via video.

Our sessions will also involve your active participation in visualization, with your eyes open or closed. It’s up to you. For deep relaxation, you’ll get a mp4 recording that you can listen to at home.

who are online coaching sessions suitable for?

You must be over the age of 18 to have online hypnosis/coaching sessions with me and be absolutely ready and motivated to engage in this process of change.

If this sounds like you, go ahead and book your free 15-minute call so we can see if we’re likely to be a good fit to work together.

It’s a therapeutic interaction, a relationship, two or more people talking intentionally. It’s really as simple as it’s always been.

what you'll need for an online session

1. A quiet room, where you won’t be disturbed and can’t be overheard.

2. A laptop or desktop with a video camera (webcam) and mic. The computer needs to be facing you and not resting on your lap or held in your hands. I’ll need to be able to see your face and shoulders.

3. A stable internet connection—wired or Wi-Fi (wireless broadband).

4. Earphones or inbuilt speakers. A headset or earphones can be useful if there’s noise or any distractions around you.

5. A comfortable chair that supports your body and head, if possible.

6. Soft light shining on your face so I can see you clearly.

Privacy

I comply with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). It is my legal and ethical responsibility to safeguard you from unauthorized disclosure of information. For more information, see my Privacy Policy. As a rule, I don’t record Zoom sessions, and I will never do so without your consent.

You’ll be responsible for making arrangements to ensure confidentiality at your end. This means during sessions and afterwards, particularly if you’re sharing a computer.

How to access your online coaching session

Once you’ve booked, you’ll receive an email confirming your appointment and containing a secure link to the session.

Simply click the link in the email at the time your session is due to start or just before. You’ll be connected to a waiting room for our video call. When I see you’ve arrived, I’ll admit you to the call.

I use Zoom, a platform I prefer for online work. It’s really easy to use. We’ll hold your free 15-minute call on Zoom (with the exception of the single, standalone Inner Guidance session, which you can book immediately). So we’ll have a trial run before your first paid session.

Support for using Zoom, including video guides, can be accessed on the Zoom help centre website.

What happens if we lose internet connection?

We’ll plan for this, although I’ve rarely known it to happen. If the connection drops during hypnosis, you’ll simply return to your full awareness, and we’ll immediately try to re-establish connection. I’ll also have a back-up phone number I can contact you on.

In the rare event that we can’t reconnect at that time, I’ll reschedule another appointment with you. And we’ll start afresh.
